In most classrooms, the last bench wasn’t where the obvious answers came from. It was where people questioned the assignment — and occasionally built something nobody had asked for yet. Last Bench Labs takes its name from that spirit: unconventional thinking, independence, curiosity, and the follow-through to actually build the thing. Not rebellion for its own sake — just a habit of not assuming the front-row answer is the only one.

Last Bench Labs is an operating holding company and venture studio, not an incubator, a consultancy, or a fund. We build companies and then run them: each venture has its own team, product and roadmap, and is judged on whether it actually solves the problem it was built for.

The operating model

We’re based in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany, and think internationally by default — the portfolio already spans Germany, India, wider Europe and North America. Technology and operating knowledge move between our companies: patterns in how to build an agentic workflow, structure a data pipeline, or run a lean support operation are shared freely. Customer data is not. Each venture maintains its own operational and data responsibilities, and nothing here pools a customer relationship across companies without their knowledge.

We experiment in a disciplined way: an idea earns its way from a question into a company through evidence, not conviction alone. Each venture keeps its own identity, its own brand and its own relationship with its own market — Last Bench Labs stays in the background as the entity that builds, resources and holds it.

Ideas are cheap. Operating companies are not — and that gap is exactly what we're built to close.
